At MVP, we believe your fantasy sports data should remain yours. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the MVP Chrome extension and website.
1. Data Collection and Usage
MVP is designed as a client-side-first application. We do not sell your personal information.
- Account information: When you create an MVP account (email + one-time verification code), we store your email address and authentication session using a cloud authentication provider. This is used to sign you in and to record season purchases.
- Purchases: When you buy season access, we store a purchase record associated with your account (product and season year) in our secure backend database so the extension can verify access after the free trial period.
- Fantasy League Data: When you sync your leagues from Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, or Fantrax, the data (rosters, standings, stats) is fetched directly from those platforms to your browser. This league data is not sent to our servers.
- Fantasy platform authentication: We do not see or store your Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, or Fantrax login credentials. MVP uses your existing browser session cookies to securely request data from fantasy platforms on your behalf.
- Projections & Stats: We fetch public fantasy projections and schedule data from a hosted data service. These requests are anonymous and do not contain information about your leagues or identity.
2. Local Storage
To provide a fast and offline-capable experience, MVP stores the following data locally on your device using chrome.storage and IndexedDB:
- Your synchronized league settings.
- Cached player stats and projections.
- User preferences (e.g., UI theme, column visibility).
- Auth session and cached entitlement status (when signed in).
You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser’s local storage.
3. Third-Party Services
MVP interacts with third-party services:
- Yahoo Sports, ESPN Fantasy, CBS Sports, and Fantrax (fantasy league data via your browser session)
- Cloud authentication and database providers (account authentication and purchase records)
- Stripe (payment processing when you purchase season access)
Your use of these services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
4. Permissions Justification
- Storage: Used to save your settings, cache data for performance, and persist your MVP auth session.
- Cookies: Used to maintain your authenticated sessions with fantasy platforms so you don’t have to log in manually within the extension.
- Host Permissions: Required to communicate with your fantasy platforms and our backend services for account and purchase checks.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
